He was predeceased by: his father James Ray Nelson; and his grandparents, Lewis, Weaverette Pless, Bud and Flora Nelson.
He is survived by: his mother Noreen Pless Nelson of Canton; his wife Beth Patton Nelson; his children, Ashley Shelton (Craig Medford) of Canton, Chance Nelson (Marisa Caldwell) of Canton and Hannah Sanders (Travis Sanders) of Canton; his grandchildren, Devon, Elijah, Mason and Dawson; his sisters, Patricia "Sissy" Brooks (Steven) and Crystal Mehaffey; and his stepmother Jan Ramsey. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
