Guy Mathews Obituary

With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Guy Mathews of Canton, North Carolina, born in Stephens, Georgia, who passed away on October 10, 2020 at the age of 87. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Paul Russell and Lola Cothran Mathews; his wife Audrey Liner Mathews; and his siblings, Wilene Brown, Louise Dills and Calvin Mathews.

He is survived by: his children, Sharon Powell (Jimmy) of Canton, Cindy Fish (Garry) of Greensboro and John S. Mathews (Sharon) of Canton; his brother Charles Mathews (Rita) of Canton; his grandchildren, Ben Powell (Heather) of Canton, Lauren P. Carr (Alex) of Asheville, Jon Patrick Fish of Greensboro, Kelly Anne Fish of Durham and Cole Jonathan Mathews of Canton; and his great grandchildren, Olivia Tucker Powell, James Alexander Carr and Allison Tyler Carr.
