He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Hugh McCracken and Hannah Duckett McCracken; his sister Jayne Rhinehart; his wife Judy Abbott McCracken; his daughters, Cindy Byers (Darrell Fowler) and Tracey Palmer (Kim); his siblings, Kittie Smart (Bob), Teresa Chason (Dave) and Bob McCracken (Judie); his grandchildren, Lindsay Wertz and Eli Byers; his great grandchild Andrew Wertz; and also Rosco. He was also cherished by his family and grandchildren, and great-grandson.
