She is survived by: her children, Patricia Smathers Yarborough (Everett) of Canton, Karen Smathers Stamey (Mike) of Clyde, Robin Smathers Gibson (David Bryson) of Waynesville and Phillip Smathers (Nancy) of Canton; and her stepsons, Dean Rhinehart (Tamara) of Waynesville and Kim Rhinehart (Cheryl) of Waynesville. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
