She was predeceased by: her parents, Bob Burress and Edna Rogers Burress; and her brother Lemuel Burress. She is survived by: her husband Alvin Messer; her sons, Anthony Messer (Amber) of Cruso and Dewayne Messer (Suzanne) of Canton; her siblings, Linda Gant (Charles) of Penrose and Reverend James R. Burress (Andrea) of Mills River; and her grandchildren, Dustin Messer (Jenna), Sydney Messer, Addison Messer and Arley Messer.
