He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Chloe Butler and Irene Allen Mullinix; his siblings, Allen Mullinix and Golda Mabry; his wife Dorothy "Dotty" Smith Mullinix; his children, Chloe Mullinix Spencer (Scott) of Wilmington and Karl Wayne Mullinix II (Krista) of Seven Lakes; his grandchildren, Scotty Spencer, Michael Spencer, Johnathan Mullinix, Matthew Mullinix and Hailey Mullinix; and his great grandchildren, Elijah Spencer, Elias Mullinix and Zahara Mullinix.
