He was predeceased by: his parents, Jasper, Jr. Thompson and Louise Dew Thompson; his brothers, Jasper Thompson and Wayne Thompson; and his grandson Brandon Thompson.
He is survived by: his close friend Yvonne Campbell Thompson; his daughter Rebecca Morse; his siblings, Gary Thompson of Candor, Steven Cashwell of Lumberton, Sherry Simmons Saunders of Troy, Barbara Ann Brown of Robbinsville and Judy Owens of Knightdale; and his stepchildren, Tony Howard of Candor and Yvette Patel of Concord. He is also survived by six grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.
