He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Arthur Alexander and Cora Glascoe Smith; his wife Nannie Bowman Smith; his children, JoAnn Smith, Alvin Smith, Jr. of Candor, Dorothy "Dotty" Mullinix of Mt. Gilead, Virginia "Ginny" Sessoms of Jackson Springs, Vickie Callicutt of Seagrove and Donna Sue Blake of Rockingham; and his sister Alice Bowman of Candor. He was also cherished by 9 Grandchildren; 18 Great-grandchildren; 3 Great-great-grandchildren.
The family requests social distancing to be observed and that masks be worn by all attendees.
