He was predeceased by: his parents, William Woodard and Nina Brooks Woodard; and his siblings, Shirley Guyer, Cleve, Joe and Jack Woodard.
He is survived by: his wife Garnetta Vanhook Woodard; his sons, William Hoyt Woodard, Jr. (Stephanie) of Asheville and Barry Earl Woodard (Susan) of Cary, NC; and his grandchildren, Savannah, Meredith and Will Woodard. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
