He is survived by: his parent Ina Whitaker Embler; his wife Dorothy Ann Mabrey Ember; his children, Elaine Embler (Steve Hill) of Asheville and Doug Embler (Tina) of Arden; his grandson Hunter Embler; his brother Bob Embler (Gail) of Weaverville; and his nieces and nephews, Dawn, Denise, Jonathan, Elizabeth and Margaret.
