Family and friends must say goodbye to their beloved Walter Post Smith Jr. of Candler, North Carolina, born in Hampton, Virginia, who passed away at the age of 80, on June 30, 2022. He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter P. Smith and Doris Desper Smith; his son David Smith; and his siblings, Sally Brown and Godfrey Smith.

He is survived by: his wife Patricia Moore Smith; and his children, Sherra Thomas, Beth Arrowood (Tim Brooks), Kellie Parton (Richard), Brannon Smith (Joey Allison), Skip Smith and Andy Miller (Susan). He is also survived by 12 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

β€œI knew him (Walt jnr !) in 1956, when my Officer father Lt Col. ... Lewis left Virginia, for his 3 year assignment in West Germany - which ienjoyed. I liked his Parents, & his sister Sally Mac was Ok.. - liked the nice clean (rich) Virginia neighbourhood, She played Piano well, with an old Song from Russia πŸ‘ - but I Can't say as much for her 2 brothers ! (I believe Godfrey shot himself for Reasons I'd rather Not disclose.- I was in Australia by then.) Robert.”
