With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Sylvia Jean Peele Dawson (Candler, North Carolina), born in Charlotte, North Carolina, who passed away on January 17, 2021 at the age of 85. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Margaret W. Peele and Gilbert E. Peele; her husband John L. Dawson; and her sister Betty P. Winn. She is survived by: her sons, Darren Dawson and Michael Dawson (Kim) of Candler; her grandchildren, Matt Dawson (Erin) and Katie Dawson Sorrells (Travis); her great grandchildren, Ty, Kase Sorrells and Pierce Dawson; her siblings, Bill Peele and Roberta P. Davern; and also Ben Heise. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Pole Creek Baptist Church, ITT Building projects.
