With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Robert Oneal Smyrl of Candler, North Carolina, born in Neeses, South Carolina, who passed away on June 30, 2023 at the age of 91. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Bennie English and Edith Dukes Smyrl; his wife Mary Thomas Smyrl; and his son John R. Smyrl. He is survived by: his children, Claudia S. Parker (Randy) and David Eugene Smyrl (Beth); and his siblings, Ann S. Avant of Georgetown, SC and Marion V. Smyrl of Columbia, SC. He is also survived by six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
