Johnston; his children, Loretta "Sam" Crawford (Richard), Sara Buchanan (Heath), James Johnston and Andy Johnston (Amy); his grandchildren, Christy Little, Jeffry Johnston, Avery Crawford, Cade Buchanan and Ruthie Buchanan; and his great grandchildren, James, Soloman and Emery.

In lieu of flowers, his family asks that donations be made to the Snow Hill United Methodist Church Abundant Harvest Program, 84 Snow Hill Church Rd., Candler, NC 28715.
