It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Leland Raydean Austin of Candler, North Carolina, who passed away on August 2, 2022, at the age of 80, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Leland Sylvester Austin and Grace Margaret Lance; his sisters, Onedia Austin Mason and Anne Austin Childers; his nephew Kevin Childers; his brothers, Michael "Mickey" Austin and Larry Eugene Austin; his niece Kelly Renee Austin; and his great-nephew Conner Ray Trantham.
He is survived by: his wife Wanda Baird Austin; his children, Page Austin-Ney (Morgan "Rusty") and Ray Austin; his grandchildren, Matthew Blevins (Kelsey) and Lacey Elrod (Justin); his great grandchildren, Maxon Machmuller Elrod and Coco Elrod; and his extended family, Lisa B Jackson, Charles Rice, Vicky Rice, Marty Baird, Autumn Baird and Marie M Rice. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins and many lifelong friends.
