He was predeceased by: his parents, Roy Lee Blanton and Julia Bailey Blanton; and his siblings, Janice Roberts and Guy Leroy Blanton. He is survived by: his daughter Heather Green of Asheville; and his sisters, Joyce Smith of Tennessee, Retha White of Oteen and Regina Babar of Charleston, SC. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
