It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Joretta Cathey Wallin of Candler, North Carolina, who passed away on September 21, 2022, at the age of 89, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, James Franklin Cathey, Sr. and Beulah Baumgartner Cathey; her husband Broughton Wallin; and her brothers, Paul Edwin Cathey and James F. Cathey, II.
She is survived by: her brother Robert Ervin Cathey (JoAnne); her children, Debra Luther, Dianne Workman (Dan), David Hinson (Kim) and Daniel Hinson (Roxie); her grandchildren, Heather Colburn (Brad), Shannon Driver (Chris), Jennifer Berrier (Jonathan), Megan Hollingsworth (Josh), Kayla Hinson and James Hinson; and her great grandchildren, Macey, Garrett Hannah, Micah, Ryker Hollingsworth, Tyler, Logan Colburn, Zachary Price and Zayden Driver.
