In loving memory of John Wesley Smathers Sr. of Candler, North Carolina, who departed this world on February 8, 2025 at the age of 90. John leaves behind a legacy remembered by family and friends. He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Betty Lou London Smathers; and his children, John Wesley, Jr., Tina and Leigh Anne.
Visitation was held on Saturday, February 15th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the Piney Mountain United Methodist Church (15 Piney Mountain Church Rd, Candler, NC 28715). A memorial service was held on Saturday, February 15th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
