It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Jewel Moody Pinkerton (Candler, North Carolina), who passed away on April 22, 2025, at the age of 95, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Amanda Mathison Moody and William Tilson Moody; her husband John Lee Pinkerton, Sr.; and her siblings, Claude Moody, Ed Moody, Luther Moody, Gertrude Roberts, Willa Mae Kirkpatrick and Blanche Moody.
She is survived by: her son John Lee Pinkerton, Jr. (Paula Bowers Pinkerton); her grandsons, John Michael Pinkerton (Irina) of Fishers, IN, James Thomas Pinkerton of Dallas, TX and David Lee Pinkerton (Bailey) of Cape May, NJ; and her great grandchildren, Alexandra Lee Pinkerton, John Paul Pinkerton, William Michael Pinkerton of Fishers, IN and Maggie Grace Pinkerton of Cape May, NJ.. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Saturday, April 26th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Groce Funeral Home - Patton Ave. (1401 Patton Ave, Asheville, NC 28806). A funeral service was held on Saturday, April 26th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Saturday, April 26th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Forest Lawn Memorial Park (1498 Sand Hill Rd, Candler, NC 28715).
