He was predeceased by: his parents, Raymond Weldon Mires and Ruth Laird Holliday Mires; his daughter Jamie Ryan Mires; and his sister Carol Mires. He is survived by: his child Kids; his wife Brenda Edwards Mires; his daughter Erin Hendricks (Bucky) of Powdersville, SC; his granddaughter Isabella Hendricks; his sisters, Dotsy Davis (Olin) of Outerbanks, NC and Barbara Hall (Gary) of Outer Banks, NC; and his brother-in-law David Edwards (Connie) of Franklin, TN..

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to Biltmore Church Missions, 35 Clayton Rd, Arden, NC 28704.
