He was predeceased by: his sister Florence Cathey. He is survived by: his wife Alma Hawkins Mehaffey; his children, Jimmy Mehaffey (Lisa) and Janice Hinnant; his grandchildren, Ryan Mehaffey, Cale Mehaffey and Kevin Hinnant; his sibling Patsy Harris (Chuck); and also Tommy Mehaffey (Anna).
