He was predeceased by: his parents, Harry Lee and Clara Belle Gaddis Scruggs; and his siblings, Harry Scruggs, Jr. and Marie Campbell. He is survived by: his wife Myra Jean Surrette Scruggs; his children, Jennifer Reed (Joey), Kimberly Scruggs and Matthew D. Scruggs (Sally); his grandchildren, Preston, Jackson Reed and Charlie Scruggs; and his siblings, Joanne Young, Edna Shook, Joyce Riddle and David Scruggs.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hominy Baptist Church, 135 Candler School Rd., Candler, NC 28715.
