She was predeceased by: her parents, Isaac Norris and Lois Henson Norris; her husband Robert "Bob" Burress; her son Edwin Glenn Smith; and her sister Louise Yarborough.
She is survived by: her children, Janet Godfrey (Bill) of Candler and Thurman Roy Smith, Jr. (Rose Mary) of Mt. Holly; and her sister Loretta Spalone of Hendersonville. She is also survived by five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
