It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Billy Hawkins of Candler, North Carolina, who passed away on February 19, 2021, at the age of 90, leaving to mourn family and friends. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Billy Hawkins to pay them a last tribute.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Julia Hawkins and Clinton Hawkins of Alexander; and his siblings, Howard C. Hawkins, Sr., Uyless, John, Ellis, Donald Hawkins, Georgia Green, Gaynelle Baldwin and Hazel Hawkins.
He is survived by: his sister Alma Mehaffey of Greer, SC. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
Due to Covid 19 virus and restrictions, a memorial service will be held at a later date.
He had been at the NC State Veterans Home for the past 5 years due to dementia and alzheimer's.
