He was predeceased by: his parents, Daniel J. Barrett and Lillian M. Lange; his brothers, Daniel J., Dennis J., Francis X. and Msgr; his wife Virginia Lee Cady; and his son Patrick Jay Barrett.
He is survived by: his children, Christopher Lee Barrett of Candler, Paul Bernard Barrett of Carrboro, NC, Darlene Elizabeth Barrett (Michael Sheldon) of Morganton, NC, Miriam Gay Barrett (Timothy Snow) of Alpharetta, GA and Michelle Elise Barrett of Concord, NC; and his grandson Timothy Michael Sheldon (Sarah) of Candler.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
