It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Rudy E. Smith of Cameron, North Carolina, who passed away on April 3, 2025, at the age of 86, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
As we bid farewell to this cherished soul, solace is taken in the memories held dear — the laughter shared, the wisdom imparted, the moments of quiet reflection in their presence. Though Rudy may no longer walk among us, his spirit lives on in the echoes of his kindness, the warmth of his embrace, and the light of his enduring love.
He was predeceased by: his wife Pauline Smith; his parents, George Washington Smith and Gertrude Smith; and his siblings, Carol Ann Smith, Leona S. Birtle, Judy S. Liss and Jimmy J. Smith.
He is survived by: his sister Wilma James of Puyallup, WA; and his niece Cindy Waters.
The military honors was held on Thursday, April 10th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Cumberland Memorial Gardens (4509 Raeford Rd, Fayetteville, NC 28304).
