With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Redell Buie of Cameron, North Carolina, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on November 7, 2024 at the age of 81. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, John D. Buie and Leecy Gilchrist Buie; his stepmother Lucille Harrington Buie; his grandparents, George and Lottie Gilchrist; his siblings, Zander Buie, John W. Buie and Larphenia Johnson; and his stepsister Delois Redwine.
He is survived by: his wife Albertine Buie; his sons, Redell Bernard Buie of Cameron, NC and Reginald Buie (Karen) of Knightdale, NC; his siblings, Mary Graham (Johnnie) of Lemon Springs, NC, Carolyn Buie of Oliva, NC, Barbara Melvin of Fayetteville, NC, Janet McIver (Donald) of Fayetteville, NC, Angela Love of Cameron, NC and Ricky Nelson Buie (Lisa) of Sanford, NC; his nieces, Iris Johnson of Dallas, NC and Leecy Johnson of Charlotte, NC; his aunts, Gloria Gilchrist of Baltimore and Margaret Speed of Cameron, NC; and his siblings-in-law, Marion Buie, Lisa Buie, Nancy Boykins Person (James), Bishop Johnnie Graham, Elder Curtis Boykin (Jean) and Victor Boykin (Kelli). He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Viewing was held on Wednesday, November 13th 2024 from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Knotts Funeral Home (719 Wall St, Sanford, NC 27330). A funeral service was held on Thursday, November 14th 2024 at 12:00 PM at the Fair Promise AME Zion Church (712 Wall St, Sanford, NC 27330). A burial was held on Thursday, November 14th 2024 at the Lee Memory Gardens (2600 Hawkins Ave, Sanford, NC 27330).
