He was predeceased by: his parents, Phillip Raymond and Flossie Pace McKinney; his wife Freda Lemons McKinney; his stepsons, James and Jerry Holt; and his brothers, Marvin and Mack McKinney.
He is survived by: his daughter Tammy McKinney Ferguson (Tim) of Cameron; his sisters, Gail McKinney Fitzgerald of Florida and Bea McKinney Nelson (Melvin) of Cary; and his grandchildren, Adam Ferguson (Ginny), Chase Ferguson (Megan), Jimmy Holt (Tammy), Kevin Holt and Cori Ferguson. He is also survived by seven great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson.
