She was predeceased by: her parents, Ruth Bullock Howell and Haywood Howell (Edmund K. Mehring); her brother Oliver B. Howell; and her son-in-law Ozzie Stivers. She is survived by: her son Roy G. Sowers, III; her daughter-in-law Susan; her daughter Lynn Stivers; her grandchildren, Travis B. Sowers (Kelsy) and Ashby S. Zeller (Brad); her great grandchildren, Landon Zeller and Tracy Sowers; her children, Ziva, Ziggy, Dawn, Sebastien, Bella and Peanut; her cousins, Felica Baldwin and Lona Maupin; her niece Sylvia Howell; and her nephews, Oscar Howell, Jeff Kinard and Matt Kinard.
She was honored earlier this year by the town of Cameron for her "dedication and contribution to promote the Town of Cameron as an antique shopping destination while helping to maintain the charm and history of the town.".
