She was predeceased by: her parents, Raymond Judson Scaff and Barbara Willis Scaff; and her son Lawrence Sawyer, Jr.. She is survived by: her husband Lawrence Sawyer of Camden; her daughters, Terrie S. Gregory (Greg) of Elizabeth City and Lisa S. Anderson (Randy) of Camden; her grandchildren, Britney Breci (Tony) of Benson, Kristal McCoy of Lynchburg, VA, Tiffany Cooper (Blake) of Camden and Tyler Gregory of Camden; her great grandchild Wesley James Cooper; her niece Brenda Winslow (Jerel); and her nephew C. A. Cartwright, Jr.. She is also survived by five great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, April 2nd 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Twiford Funeral Homes (405 E Church St, Elizabeth City, NC 27907). A funeral service was held on Thursday, April 3rd 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Geneva Baptist Church (812 NC Hwy 343 N, Camden, NC 27921).
