He was predeceased by: his parents, Rodney Phelps and Julia Huhak Phelps; and his brother Brian Phelps. He is survived by: his wife Barbara Hrobak Phelps; his children, Michelle, Schwerdtner, Heather Wearner (Brian), Rodney (Clara), Mark (Angela), Matthew (Adeline) and Jason (Caitlin); and his grandchildren, Jerod, Ethan, Tate, Zachary, Anabella, Luke, Nathan, Henry, Aidan, Anna, Julianne, Charles and Joseph.
Visitation was held on Thursday, February 13th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Sawyer's Creek Baptist Church (241 Sawyers Creek Rd, Camden, NC 27921). A funeral service was held on Thursday, February 13th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the same location.
