He was predeceased by: his parents, Luther Durham and Sallie Durham; and his siblings, Calvin, Carl, Charles, Kathy McBride and Shelby Bennett.

He is survived by: his sisters, Margaret (Bobby Elks) and Judy Gerringer; and his son Gary Fritts. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be made to New Life Baptist Church, 1100 East Fairfield Road, High Point, NC 27263, where Luther was a member.
