He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward James Melvin, Jr. and Agnes Louise Pipkin Melvin; and his siblings, Jane Wheeler and Steve Melvin. He is survived by: his daughters, Tammy Jones (Brett) of Elizabeth City and Lisa Gibbs (Robert) of South Mills; his siblings, Pat Eatmon of Oak Island, Debbie McDowell of Leland, Jerri Bradshaw of Goldsboro and Edward Melvin of Goldsboro; his grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Heather, Amber, Ashleigh, Robbie and Bradley; and his great grandchildren, Bentley, Tanner, Nova, Camden, Liam, Serenity and Carson.
