He was predeceased by: his parents, William Lee Horton and Sadie Owney Horton; his significant other Norita B. Horton; and his children, William Moody, Daniel Moody and Gloria Jean Stone.
He is survived by: his children, Donald C. Horton (Deborah) of Camden, NC and Annie Elmore (Mike) of Charlotte, NC; and his daughter-in-law Anita Moody of Camden, NC. He is also survived by many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
