With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Frances M. Shannon of Camden, North Carolina, born in Hertford, North Carolina, who passed away on February 8, 2022 at the age of 98. She was predeceased by: her husband Rufus Shannon; her daughters, Helen Shannon and Shirley Boyd (Fred); and her siblings, Cecil Manley, Aaron Manley, Johnny Manley, James Manley, Louvenia Banks and Esther Mae Simmons.
She is survived by: her children, Howard Shannon (Inez-Tina) of Camden, Hazel Bowe of Camden, Gloria Davis (Walter) of Camden, Orethia Mullen (Barry) of Camden and Pamela S. Etheridge (Michael) of Camden. She is also survived by fifteen grandchildren; twenty-three great grandchildren; and fifteen great-great grandchildren who will miss their grandmother.
