David Lee Barnes Obituary
We are sad to announce that on December 31, 2024, at the age of 80, David Lee Barnes of Camden, North Carolina passed away. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
As we bid farewell to this cherished soul, solace is taken in the memories held dear — the laughter shared, the wisdom imparted, the moments of quiet reflection in their presence. Though David Lee may no longer walk among us, his spirit lives on in the echoes of his kindness, the warmth of his embrace, and the light of his enduring love.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Lee Reubin and Dixie Vernon Holiway Barnes; and his sisters, Katie Weatherly and Rosalee Ainsley. He is survived by: his wife Mildred McPherson Barnes; his children, Jesse Wilham and Jon Barnes of Virginia; and his sister Peggy Wintjen of Kansas.
A funeral service was held on Monday, January 6th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Chapel of Miller & Van Essendelft Funeral Home (1125 Harvey Point Rd, Hertford, NC 27944).
