He is survived by: his wife Neldia Haste Hastings; his children, Clarence Russell "Rusty" Hastings (Debbie) of Camden, NC and Amy Lynn Planch (Ken) of Moyock, NC; his granddaughter Madison Doxey; and his sisters, Earlene Harris (Ike) of Elizabeth City, NC and Lois Sanders of Camden, NC. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
