She was predeceased by: her parents, Patrick Henry Egan and Myrtle McCoy Egan; her spouse Tully R. Tarkington, Sr.; and her siblings, Mary Ricks, Catherine Benthal, Margaret McPherson and Charlie Egan.
She is survived by: her children, Lorelle Tarkington Staples (Carl) of Shawboro, NC and Tully R. "Robbie" Tarkington, Jr. of Camden, NC; and her grandchildren, Zachary Staples and Shannon Staples.
