She was predeceased by: her parents, Willie Todd and Mary Floyd Todd; her husband Charlie J. Tharpe; her sons, Earlie Tharpe and Johnny Tharpe; and her siblings, Velma Coleman, Nancy Irene Tharpe, Effie Hegge, Henry D. Todd, Lee Todd, Buddy Todd and Jack Todd.
She is survived by: her daughter Mary Lou Matthews; and her sister Eloise Cooker of Shallotte, NC. She is also survived by ten grandchildren and seventeen great-great grandchildren.
