Elwin William Mates Obituary
We are sad to announce that on September 2, 2019, at the age of 96, Elwin William Mates (Calabash, North Carolina) passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his wife Joan Marie Mellon; and his sisters, Gladys Davis and Vivian Lacetera. He is survived by: his sibling Towers; his children, Carol Corbett (John) of Sunset Beach, Thomas Mates (Kaia) and Bill Mates (Barbara); and his grandchildren, Amy Corbett (Nathan), Sean Corbett (Lindsey), Caitlin Mates (Chris), Hadley Berting (Josh), Walker Mates, Scott Mates (Juliet), Christopher LaRocca (Nicole) and Megan LaRocca (Joe). He is also survived by 10 great grandchildren, as well as nephews, nieces and their children.
