With heavy hearts, we announce the death of George Wesley Basnett Sr. of Buxton, North Carolina, who passed away on January 3, 2023 at the age of 78. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, David Raymond Basnett Sr. and Grace Violet Williams Basnett; and his sisters, Connie Fox and Maleta Gray. He is survived by: his wife Judith Jennette Basnett; his children, George Wesley Basnett Jr. (Virginia Basnett) of Aydlett, Judith Callie-Ann Basnett and Megan Faith McElveen; his grandchildren, Christian Bryce McElveen and Michael Wesley McElveen of Weddington; his children, Gary Howard Baldree III of Havelock, Thomas Luke Baldree of Havelock and Samuel Taylor Baldree of Havelock; and his sisters, Eula Stowe, Darlene Ward and Charlene Perkins. He is also survived by many nephews, nieces, friends.
