It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Charles Edward Averette of Butner, North Carolina, born in Oxford, North Carolina, who passed away on December 30, 2023, at the age of 70, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Dewey Young Averette, Jr. (DY) and Mildred Gray Sims Averette; and his brother Dewey Averette, III (DY). He is survived by: his wife Emma Blevins; his daughters, Christy and Michelle Averette of Stem, NC; his granddaughter DJ Yates of Stem, NC.; and his sisters, Sylvia Martin of Lumberton, Faye Averette of Butner, Nancy Averette of Butner and Amy Wilder (Scott) of Stem.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations in his honor be made to St. Jude's Childrens Hospital.
