He was predeceased by: his parents, Ralph Cook and Margaret Wilson Cook; his wife Iris Geouge Cook; his siblings, James Cook, Thermon Cook, Lloyd Cook, Luther Cook, Grace Hughes, Joyce Wheeling, Deborah Cook and Wilma Cook; and his grandson Andrew Hoilman.
He is survived by: his children, David Cook of Maggie Valley, Leona Cook of Green Mountain, Travis Cook (Joan) of Connelly Springs, Daniel Cook of Weaverville and Leslie Cook Robinson (James) of Spruce Pine; his grandchildren, Christopher Abernethy (Gina), Erica Woody, Jordan Cook, Faith Blackwell (Stephen), Mason Cook, Colby Cook, Austen Wilson (Anna Brooke), Katie Wilson and Maddison Hoilman Silvers (Logan); and his great grandchildren, Carson Mennig, Andrew Woody, Eliza Blackwell and Jax Sanders. He is also survived by numerous friends, nieces, and nephews, and cousins.
Viewing was held on Thursday, April 17th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Chapel of Holcombe Brothers Email (501 E Main St, Burnsville, NC 28714). A funeral service was held on Friday, April 18th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Chapel of Holcombe Brothers Funeral Home (501 E Main St, Burnsville, NC 28714). A burial was held on Friday, April 18th 2025 at 3:30 PM at the Robinson Cemetery.
