He is survived by: his children, Regina Young McKinney (Jerry) and Robert Young (Vickie) of Burnsville, N. C.; his grandchildren, Jared McKinney (Natalie) of Inman, S. C., Kaycee Peterson (Josh) of Burnsville and Robert "Bear" Young of Burnsville; his great grandchildren, Abigail, Hallie Peterson, Harper and Luke McKinney; and his siblings, Melba Taylor of Marion, N. C., Richard Young (Joan) of Franklin, N. C., Rebecca Sharpe (Pete) of Marion, N. C., Steve Young (Carolyn) of Marion, N. C., Rachel Geouge (Wade) of Mocksville, N. C. and Amelia Jane Smith (Larry) of Maiden, N. C.. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 13th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the New Beginning Baptist Church (147 Boone Ridge Dr, Burnsville, NC 28714). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, March 13th 2025 at 3:00 PM at the same location.
