It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Maxi Gouge Buchanan of Burnsville, North Carolina, who passed away on January 18, 2023, at the age of 87, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, W. O. Gouge and Fearol Woody Gouge; her husband Warren Buchanan; and her sisters-in-law, Grace Ellis (Harold), Nell Young (Joe), Christine Young (Jake) and Emma Lee Sparks (Eli).
She is survived by: her son Thomas "Tommy" Buchanan, Jr. (Susan Pendley Buchanan) of Burnsville; her grandson Thomas Warren Buchanan III (Amy Fitzgerald) of Burnsville; her great grandchild Evelyn Rey; her brother Sherwood Gouge (Linda) of Bakersville; her close friend Alan Adaschik of Green Mountain; and her caregivers, Anna McCourry, Lisa Bennett and Maude Silvers. She is also survived by Several nieces, nephews and cousins.
