He is survived by: his wife Elana Young Howell; his daughter Kelly Howell of Red Hill; his stepchildren, Heather Proffitt-Young (Jason) of Green Mountain and John Proffitt (Heather) of Burnsville; his grandchildren, Jesse Young, Hunter Taylor (Russell), Garrett Sparks and Paige Sparks; his great grandchild Julien Carter Taylor; and his cousins, Jerri Ray, Karen Shepherd, Linda Laws and Brenda Pate. He is also survived by numerous cousins and friends.
Visitation was held on Sunday, December 8th 2024 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Yancey Funeral Services (378 Charlie Brown Rd, Burnsville, NC 28714). A funeral service was held on Sunday, December 8th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the same location. A graveside service was held on Monday, December 9th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
