He was predeceased by: his parents, James Willard and Mary Louise Lunsford Medford; his wife Kikue Medford; and his siblings, Henry, Jim, Michael Medford, Martha Medford and Emma Smith.
He is survived by: his children, Marie Parker (Johnny) of Burnsville, Theresa Medford of Kansas City, Cecilia Medford of Los Angeles, Jennifer Grano (Loren) of Bakersville and Joseph Medford of Candler; and his siblings, Jennie Butler of Michigan, Harley Medford (Juanita) of Tennessee and Alfred Medford (Valerie) of Hawaii. He is also survived by seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, March 7th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the Western Carolina State Veterans Cemetery (962 Old US Hwy 70, Black Mountain, NC 28711).
