He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert "Rob" Thomas and Vaughtie Pate Thomas; and his siblings, Laurie, Ruby, Vivian, Rosa Lee, Virgil, Russell, Clinton, Bobby and Morris.
He is survived by: his children, Jeff Thomas, Doug Thomas (Fonda) of Burnsville and Donna Thomas of Hickory; his sisters, Frances McCurry of Burnsville and Peggy Ray of Burnsville; his grandchildren, Amy Powell (Chad), Jimmy Joe Thomas (Misty), Sandra Burleson (Andy), Andrew Thomas (Makayla), Cody Brittain (Courtney), Devan Thomas (Amanda), Courtney Brittain, Jackie Burns (George) and Jessie Austin (Jeffrey); and his great grandchildren, Maddison, Bryson, Makenzie, Dalton, Lexi, Alivia, Scarlet, Isaac, Elias, Ellowyn, Lillian, Layla, Cashton, Anna Grace, Payton, Riley, Samuel, Eden, Silas, Savannah, Elisabeth and Allyson. He is also survived by his wife, children and all his grandchildren, great-grandchildren.
