He was predeceased by: his parents, Kenneth Rathbone and Zora McIntyre Rathbone; his wife Angeline Sowers Rathbone; and his siblings, J. D. Wilson, Essie Ward, Lorene Rumfelt and Geraldine Jenzen.

He is survived by: his children, Amanda Ledford (Waylon) of Burnsville, Amy Rathbone (James Wheeler) of Burnsville and Brian Rathbone (Ginger) of Burnsville; his grandchildren, Jordan Ledford (Lauren), Jade Bolick (Nick), Danielle Parker (Patrick), Jason Edwards (Savannah), Katelyn Rathbone, Hannah Rathbone, Mercedes Smith (Jaten Wilson) and Amber Gouge; and his great grandchildren, Maverick Edwards, Lainey Edwards, Charlotte Bolick and Oaklen Edwards. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
