She was predeceased by: her parents, Edward Gibbs and Lula Gibbs of Celo; and her siblings, Edward Gibbs, Mildred Harris, Ray Gibbs, Marie Johnson, Dail Gibbs, Nell Huskins and Nina Johnson.
She is survived by: her husband James; her daughters, Tammy Simmons Black (Mike) and Karen Simmons Brown (Ronnie); and her grandchildren, Morgan (Justin), Zachary (Megan) and Bailey. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.
